SASHA FITZGERALD

Sasha grew up on the West Coast of Canada, moving from town to town, from city to suburb to country, for the first twelve years of her life. Through all of the changes, new schools, and general upheavals, one thing remained constant - her love of art.

She attended the illustration and design program at Capilano University, and learned many news skills, and met many talented fellow-burgeoning artists. A year later two of her illustrations were published in Jasmine Beckett Griffith's Vampire Art Now, a beautiful, hard bound coffee table art book. She has also sold her wares at various conventions, including Anime Evolution and MiniComi, as well as at the Granville Island Public Market.

Through her work, she hopes to tell a story, set a mood, and express emotion. With each painting she endeavors to define the ethereal 'feminine', and uncover all of her secrets.

In her free time, she loves to cuddle her black cat Honey, take long walks through the forest, drink peach cider on a hot day, and take photographs of her surroundings.

TINA MOLINA

Strange, unusual and mostly misunderstood,  Tina Molina is one odd bird! Shy at first, until you get her talking about creative projects or the latest collaborations. The Arts have always been her outlet when she's too shy to express herself through words.

This is Tina's first book and wants to pass on how much fun it is to dream where everything is possible and anyone can be a hero. And maybe,  just maybe... you'll be inspired by one of the artists and want to draw something of your own. She loves it when people share their drawings!

BRYAN MAHNKE DAVIDSON

Bryan is driven to tell meaningful stories - whether that's making art that someone working 9-5 can watch or read to unwind from the day or helping that one teenager who doesn't quite fit in, connect to something larger, or helping children learn something that will influence their lives for years to come.

Bryan strives to create characters that don't fit neatly into one moral category. Showing the humanity in monsters , and the darker impulses of heroes adds an element that hopefully reminds people to find the good in the bad, and be careful of the bad in the good.

CHRISTINE BARLOW

Christine grew up in the Midwest and was a grade school teacher in Chicago until she retired to San Diego. She was very creative and artistic with a knack for lifelike drawing, painting, making small murals and creating extremely detailed porcelain doll figurines. Christine was also a craftswoman skilled at restoring wood furniture, upholstery rejuvenation, and sewing clothing. There was no doubt she was capable of taking a creative idea from drawing to finished product.

JACOB GUYMON

Jake was born and bred in Southern California. He works mostly in digital art and doodles. He recently got an airbrush, so he'll probably paint with that too. He also enjoys acting and voice over work.

LESLIE WEIDNER

Leslie Weidner is a professional quilter she certified Quilt In A Day Teacher.

It all started in 1963 when she won a scholarship to Chicago’s Art Institute during her junior year in high school.  There had been a contest directed to art students to present their vision of Chicago.  Naturally, most of the art work submitted leaned toward Chicago’s dramatic skyline, or Buckingham Fountain, or one of many other distinguished sites in this Toddling Town, Chicago.  But Leslie had a different vision.  Her vision was the unseen part.  The scenes experienced when she rode the “L” out of Halsted Street:  gritty fire escapes from run down apartments.  Her “sketch” became so detailed that the judges accepted her pencil sketch and not the required ink drawing.  It won her the scholarship at the Art Institute of Chicago!  Her restless spirit carried her to California where her attention was directed toward the soldiers in Viet Nam. This interest led her to create her own “newspaper” called Tom’s Times.  Even though it was sent to one soldier, Tom was able to circulate his one copy of Tom’s Times to at least 100 other home sick fellow soldiers.  Tom’s Times brought news of the latest music, movies and goings on of the people of California.  Eventually, Tom came home and Tom’s Times turned into quilts.  Leslie began to focus her art on fabric: quilt designs and other fiber creations.  Some homemade card quilts as well as full size quilts were sent to VA hospitals.  She continues to create and give away quilts to veterans and other charitable organizations.  She also began original designs onto quilts that are currently being sold at her Etsy shop, Bratty Ann Designs.  Her first client brought her a pencil sketch of a quilt block she asked to be created. And, created Bratty Ann did! She continues to design and create quilts for veterans, security quilts for children, and quilts used for raising money for fundraisers.

VIVIANA GUERRERO

Viviana Guerrero is an artist of many mediums. Primarily portraits and acrylic on canvas but occasionally she’ll venture out and try new mediums. Her love of bugs, dinosaurs and all things odd has shaped her art into a style all of her own. She was born and raised in SoCal and started selling paintings at the age of 15. By 16 she had hosted and sold at the local artwalks and only progressed from there. She was mentored by her high-school Art teacher and even got to teach along side her. Nowadays you’ll find her pursuing her passion for child care while running her Etsy shop on the side.

RENEE SALIM

Renée lives in Sheffield, UK and studied graphics and illustration at a specialised fine art college in Wales. She loves to draw whimsical portraits with bright colours. She is inspired by pop culture and music, and much of her earlier work is heavily influenced by her love of Japanese culture. SAMANTHA SHUMAKER

Samantha Shumaker is a Panamanian-American artist born in Texas in 1993. She began her career as a visual artist in Orlando, Florida after watching a handful of YouTube tutorials on oil painting techniques and was inspired to emulate the individuals who dedicated their lives to the creation process. Through practice and dedication she found herself entranced with painting strong and powerful yet delicately ethereal subjects. These paintings are brought to life with electrifying cotton candy color palettes and fluid dream-like compositions in a new contemporary style. Her love of experimentation has led her to dynamic bouts of painting larger than life in the form of murals, sculptural paintings and story telling through video. She seeks to build a community by using her story and work to inspire others, both online through her YouTube videos and locally at art functions.

Her fascination with narwhals sparked in 2008 when she discovered that their existence, though magical, is very real.  She felt compelled to make them the focus of her illustrations, and has been incorporating more creatures ever since.

BEN AVLiS is a self-taught semi-human art mammal lurking somewhere within the old textile mills of Fall River, MA where he co-owns/operates the MiLLBiLLY Art Studio established in 2008. There he works full-time with his imagination while experimenting with various mediums such as: drawing, painting, airbrushing, sculpture, digital art, animation, resin casting, and screen printing.

His role in the art realm is to sustain the process of creation while continuing to utilize "life" as the source of inspiration.

BETTY STOUMBOS

Betty is a 'mostly' self taught artist who has been creating one way or another her whole life. Over the years she has dabbled in photography, watercolor, acrylic, but it was love at first sight when she discovered mixed media. Her favorite thing to do is create a background with lots of texture, and then paint one of my whimsical characters, mostly girls, over top. Betty's style is ever evolving and you never know what will show up next!
